D3D ( Dreamworks3D), a local 3D printing and scanning company, continues to make progress on their custom built, huge 3D printer.
Almost 1 metre square, this printer will no doubt be awesome. It will certainly be interesting. I think it has great potential to provide some unique opportunities for the company, its customers, and the community, to print some stuff that would otherwise be a challenge.
Aside from large direct parts, it could be used to print forms for other types of maker solutions, such as large scale injection molds, or fiberglass/ carbon fiber forms.
When D3D gives us the greenlight, will will share some of the unique thought, engineering, and parts that went into this bad bay.
As part of our working relationship (and friendship), EIB3D has acquired, and contributed, what we hope will make nice addition to this soon to be maker’s dream.
Stay tuned for some updates on the new pellet extruder kit from across the pond from Kristian Friesen and our friends at Greenboy3D in Germany. (https://greenboy3d.de/).
Not only has Kristian been making strides on the extruder kit itself, but he has taken up the challenge to help with streamlining supply of pellet options.
The pellet extruder should add some really cool environmentally friendly, and cost effective, input options. Especially handy for a printer than will be cranking out epic large parts.
More to follow on some future integration of a recycling project that we are looking into as well.
For now here are a couple of progress pics.
Can’t wait to see this in action soon.
